It is often said that a potential reader makes a judgement on a book in a few seconds. In this short time they make a decision about whether they feel the book interests or intrigues them enough to pick it up and find out more. This means the front cover of any book needs to be visually captivating, carry essential information and convey the ‘feel’ of the story within. Typography and layout are equally important and should complement the design and create the right vehicle for the communication of the contents of the book.
